Frequently Asked Questions
Before you come in for a formal intake evaluation, we will conduct a brief 15 minute screening over the phone (free of cost) to determine if our services are the right match for your needs. You can either call us at 410-480-8052 or email us at info@bellcad.net to schedule a call.
At the Bell Center, we do not participate with any insurance plans and are considered Out-Of-Network Providers. For each session, we will provide you with a detailed receipt that includes information your insurance company needs to process your claim. If you do have any out-of-network benefits, the insurance company would then send the reimbursement payment directly to you. Please note that even with out-of-network benefits, it is possible that not all services will be covered. This may include services provided by Psychology Associates or other unlicensed providers. We strongly recommend that you contact your insurance company prior to your first appointment to confirm what, if any, out-of-network benefits you may have. The last page of the Client Services and Consent Agreement has a list of questions that can help you navigate this process with your insurance company.
At the Bell Center, a Psychology Associate is an individual who has completed his or her doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) but has not yet completed the licensing process in the state of Maryland. This individual has all credentials registered with the Maryland Board of Psychology and has received approval from the Board to practice psychology under the supervision of a licensed psychologist (Dr. Bell). This supervision includes weekly meetings to discuss cases, collaboration on treatment plan development, and clinical training. The Psychology Associate adheres to all standards established in the “Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct” recognized by the American Psychological Association. Both the Psychology Associate and the clinical supervisor are responsible for safeguarding the client’s right to confidentiality. You may find additional information in the Notice of Privacy Practices documentation.
The Bell Center for Anxiety and Depression requires at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment, by either email or voicemail. If notice is given in less than 24 hours or no notice is provided, you will be charged the full fee for the appointment.
