At the Bell Center, a Psychology Associate is an individual who has completed his or her doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) but has not yet completed the licensing process in the state of Maryland.  This individual has all credentials registered with the Maryland Board of Psychology and has received approval from the Board to practice psychology under the supervision of a licensed psychologist (Dr. Bell).  This supervision includes weekly meetings to discuss cases, collaboration on treatment plan development, and clinical training.  The Psychology Associate adheres to all standards established in the “Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct” recognized by the American Psychological Association.   Both the Psychology Associate and the clinical supervisor are responsible for safeguarding the client’s right to confidentiality.   You may find additional information in the Notice of Privacy Practices documentation.
